Thundershowers over the island
The meteorology department states that thunder showers will be fairly widespread over the island during the afternoon and night.
Showers will occur in the coastal areas of Colombo, Kaluthara and Galle districts during the morning too.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
Duty meteorologist Jeewan Karunarathna requests the General public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities.
