Indian Officials have strengthened security following the heated
situation which has erupted following the jail sentence imposed on
Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalaitha Jeyaram.
Violence broke out in several parts of Tamil Nadu after Chief Minister Jayalalitha was convicted in a corruption case with angry AIADMK supporters indulging in stone pelting and arson and forcing closure of shops.
Jayalalitha, was sentenced to jail for four years on corruption charges in a case that has lasted for 18 years.
The chief minister of the southern state of Tamil Nadu was found guilty of amassing wealth of more than 10 million Dollars which was unaccounted for.
