CCTV
released by the British Transport Police shows the child's mother
running to the platform and jumping down onto the tracks to rescue the
child - hauling the child and pushchair back onto the platform just
seconds before a second train pulled in.
The
family then left the station. Now police have asked witnesses to come
forward and identify the people involved in the July 23 incident.
Chief
Inspector Mark Lawrie said: 'This was a frightening incident, not just
for the scale of the danger the child was exposed to, but also because
the woman then put her own life on the line by going onto the tracks.
